If you have ever been to Mexico then you might know that a truly authentic margarita is a bit different. Stronger, and less sweet to say the least. My goal with this Mixed-Up Pomegranate Lime Margarita Recipe was to keep some of the authentic flavor of a “real” margarita while adding in some fun, delicious flavors as well! But don’t worry, if you like a sweeter margarita, check the recipe notes for some tips on how to adjust the flavor to your taste.
I have to admit, I don’t usually make the drinks in our home. I leave that up to my fiance, Daryl. I consider that his area of expertise. I attempted to recruit him to help me with this recipe. Attempted. He stopped at the store and bought me everything on my list, but that’s where his help ended. Apparently, he doesn’t make margaritas – haha!
With this being a contest, I wanted to mix things up a bit. I chose to blend two flavors: pomegranate and lime. They actually go really well together. I’m surprised this hasn’t become a huge food trend yet!
I mixed things up even more by choosing two non-margarita drink mixes. I used the Stirrings Simple Pomegranate Martini Cocktail Mix and the Simple Mojito Cocktail Mix. They are basically juice blends and I wanted to show the versatility of both. I did use the Margarita Rimmer Cocktail Garnish because I wanted a salted rim.
My first recipe was a bit too authentic. Strong doesn’t even begin to describe it. I felt the fruit flavors got lost and it wasn’t what I was going for at all. We drank them anyway but agreed that I needed to try something else.
After a bit of tweaking, I finally got it! The recipe I have listed below will give you a margarita with a nice balance of flavors! Not too strong, not too sweet. The perfect Mixed-Up Pomegranate Lime Margarita recipe out there! Probably the only one…but it’s a good one!
If you’re already convinced that you need this recipe if your life (ha!) you can find Stirrings mixers and rimmers at Harris Teeter and Total Wine & More (if you are in my local area). You can find other locations by using the store locator on their website.
Run one lime slice around the rim of a margarita glass, then squeeze the excess juice into the glass. Put a Tablespoon or so of the Margarita Rimmer on a plate and press the rim of the glass into it to coat it all the way around.
In a shaker, combine the tequila, triple sec, and both cocktail mixes. Add a few ice cubes if desired and shake until blended. Pour into the salt-rimmed glass and garnish with an extra lime slice.
If you prefer a sweeter margarita, you can add agave, 1 teaspoon at a time, until the desired flavor is achieved. You can also make a simple syrup and use that instead.
I recently posted a recipe for a Triple Berry Vanilla Smoothie with Protein and Greens. I guess you could say this Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie with Protein and Greens is the chocolate version, with fewer types of berries. It’s still packed full of protein and super healthy greens, but in chocolate form, and who doesn’t love chocolate?
I’ve been craving all things fresh and healthy lately. I think summer definitely has that effect on me! Fresh berries are my absolute favorite and always, always, always have them in the fridge. I’ve been drinking smoothies for breakfast quite often since I’ve discovered the brand ALOHA and their individual serving protein powders and Daily Greens packets (they have larger containers as well). The individual packets make it so quick easy for me because I am constantly juggling a baby on one arm, and everything else on the other. Even when I’m short on time, I can still whip up a delicious, healthy breakfast in minutes and this Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie makes for a perfect start to my busy day!
For this Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie with Protein and Greens, I added ALOHA Chocolate Protein Powderto Dark Chocolate Almond Milk because the more chocolate the better, in my opinion. ALOHA even has Chocolate Blend Daily Greens, so I used a packet of that as well to make sure this smoothie would be loaded benefits! The raspberries added a fresh, sweet vibe to the mix! It’s so delicious, you don’t even realize how healthy it is, except you feel good, and energized! A perfect way to start the day, or even for an afternoon pick-me-up (yes, I need those often)!
Those are the ALOHA products I used to make this recipe. If you are interested in trying ALOHA out for yourself, they do offer free trial smoothie kits (you do have to pay for the shipping) and you can get everything you need to make this Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie AND my Triple Berry Vanilla Smoothie with Protein and Greens. You’ll probably even get an extra packet of unflavored Daily Greens as well that you can sprinkle on food, or mix into just about anything else you want for a health and energy boost! I really love that ALOHA lets you try before you buy…now I just need to get my hands on one of their chocolate bars – they look sooooo good – haha!

Add all ingredients to a blender and process until smooth. If the smoothie is too thick, add more milk until desired consistency is reached. Top with additional raspberries and chocolate chips (*optional) and serve!

This Triple Berry Vanilla Smoothie with Protein and Greens is the perfect way to start a bright summer morning!
I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but for me, the start of summer always brings on the desire to eat more fresh, healthy foods…especially berries! I am seriously counting the days until the Strawberry Festival at one of the local farms near us! I recently discovered ALOHA brands protein powders and daily greens and was a little overly excited to try them to say the least! I love a good smoothie and being able to add some extra health benefits sounded like a win-win to me. I decided to add fresh strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries to add some extra sweetness to this Triple Berry Vanilla Smoothie I created. I have to admit, it’s pretty darn delicious!
This smoothie couldn’t be easier to make! ALOHA makes it even simpler by giving you the option of buying their protein powder and greens in individual serving packets as well. I have been scared to death of trying a greens powder for so long, and had heard some awful things about the taste of wheat grass. I thought I might want to sweeten it up for my own personal tastes a little and bought a bunch of berries to do just that.
You can mix the protein powder into the beverage of your choice, so I chose to use Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk to give my smoothie even more vanilla flavor (and we always have it on hand!). I added about a Cup of the milk to my Ninja Blender cup, along with the ALOHA Vanilla Protein Powder and Mixed Berry Daily Greens and blended until it was super smooth. I gave it a try and have to admit, while it wasn’t as sweet as I prefer, it actually still tasted pretty good as it was! BUT! I wanted a Triple Berry Vanilla Smoothie, so I then threw in about a Cup of the berries as well. More blending and perfection! It turned out smooth and creamy with just the right amount of fresh berry sweetness! I could drink this every morning, especially if I could sit out back on a sunny summer morning to enjoy it every time as well!
I’ll definitely be grabbing some extra packets of ALOHA Protein Powders (they have chocolate too!!) and Daily Greens (again, there is a chocolate variety) so I can enjoy this Tripe Berry Vanilla Smoothie with Protein and Greens all summer. And you better believe I’m going to turn those chocolate varieties into something just as tasty!
If you love smoothies, definitely check out ALOHA’s website to see how you can get your own smoothie kit trial for free!
